ABSTRACT

This study investigated the experiences of the Nursing students in rendering community service. It is aimed to provide baseline data on the status of the Community Service Program of the College of Nursing, University of Baguio. The study randomly selected 300 students who provided answers to a questionnaire-checklist. The data generated show that students are generally positive regarding the training they received from the Community Service component of the UB Nursing program. However, areas that need to be improved were identified and these involve technicalities of the course, communication and interaction skills of the students and confidence of the students in identifying and establishing the needs priorities and health status of their clientele.
