"From Vision to Action: Project Design, Implementation, and Sustainability in Capstone Research"
The University of Baguio’s Research Innovation, Extension, and Community Outreach (RIECO) Office proudly announces the Capstone Project Development Training 2025, themed “From Vision to Action: Project Design, Implementation, and Sustainability in Capstone Research.” The event took place on October 23, 2025 (Wednesday), at the UB Alumni AVR.
The training aimed to strengthen the research culture within the university by equipping both faculty members and nonteaching employees with the essential knowledge and skills for developing effective and sustainable capstone projects. The event acknowledged the participation of faculty members from UB’s partnered school, the Baguio Central University. The event’s mission is to have these created projects be envisioned to go beyond academic requirements, fostering innovative thinking and community-oriented solutions that contribute to real-world development.
Serving as the resource speaker for the training is Engr. Nathaniel Vincent A. Lubrica, PhD, Executive Director of the University of the Cordilleras Research and Statistics Office (UC-RSO). With his extensive expertise in research design, project implementation, and sustainability strategies, Engr. Lubrica will guide participants in refining their project concepts to ensure greater societal impact and alignment with institutional and national development goals.
This initiative underscores the University of Baguio’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goal) By promoting research-based learning and encouraging innovation-driven solutions, the university along with its partnered universities continue to nurture future professionals who are equipped to contribute meaningfully to sustainable and inclusive growth in research, upskilling and further knowledge in the Capstone Project Development Training. Through this training, RIECO reaffirmed its mission to transform vision into action—empowering the UB community to design, implement, and sustain impactful research projects that inspire innovation and positive change.
