"tailor its initiatives to meet the unique challenges faced by each community, ensuring that the programs are relevant and significant"
Last December 10, 2024, the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation, or PACUCOA held its 51st Founding Anniversary and 35th Annual General Assembly at the Novotel in Manila.
The University was granted Autonomous status by CHED, a privilege that only 77 schools nationwide were given. The highlight of the day for the university was the award presented to the Research Innovation Extension and Community Service, which earned 5th place in the Search for Best Community Outreach/ Extension Program. Entries across the nation were entered, yet RIECO’s entry stood out with its excellent programs. This reflects the institute’s commitment to service and showcases the significant impact of extension and outreach programs in fostering social development and improving educational outcomes.
A key aspect of RIECO’s successful extension and outreach programs is their sustainability, as they are research-based and involve collaboration with local stakeholders. Partnerships with schools, government agencies, and non-profit organizations are essential for maximizing resources and enhancing program effectiveness. This collaborative model enables RIECO to tailor its initiatives to meet the unique challenges faced by each community, ensuring that the programs are relevant and significant.
RIECO’s recognition as the fifth-best community outreach program underscores the value of education, health, and community participation in creating sustainable development initiatives. By empowering individuals and fostering collaboration, RIECO not only enhances the well-being of communities but also sets a precedent for other organizations in the field.
