ABSTRACT

Barangay City Camp Central/City Camp Lagoon is situated at the heart of the City. The influx of people coming from different parts of the country caused a sudden increase in the population of the area. A community like City Camp Central has its share of problems and needs related to community development. It is in this that this paper was conceptualized- to determine the development needs of the focal barangays. This descriptive-survey study made use of the DELSILIFE Interview Schedule as the gathering-data tool. Six puroks of the target barangays were used as survey areas. Sixty households were then chosen through quota-convenience sampling: ten household heads per purok. The Interview Schedule sheets were scored, using the DELSILIFE Scoring Guide. Findings denote that by and large, the community is at level III (take-off) stage of development. Nonetheless, two sectors of development were identified as the primary problem areas: economic base sector (Level II) and food sector (Level I). An action plan was therefore formulated to address the identified problems and needs of City Camp Lagoon Barangay.
