Following the seminar on Ethics in Doing Research, the R&DC once again organized a seminar entitled Research Problem Formulation on August 19, 2017 at the Centennial Library. This seminar is intended for all research students whose courses are under the Social Sciences.
The seminar focused on the appropriate writing of the specific problems of the research topic. A total of 114 participants from the Graduate School, undergraduate students from the School of Business Administration and Accountancy, School of Criminal Justice and Public Safety, School of Information Technology, School of Liberal Arts and Huma
n Sciences, School of Nursing, School of Teacher Education and faculty members joined the seminar. The seminar aimed to equip the students with the skills in formulating research problems.
Mr. Nigel D. Millare, Chief Librarian, gave an orientation on the use of databases. He gave the lists of free websites and their log- in details. He emphasized the need to use online academic sources in research.
Dr. Rhoda Basco-Galangco lectured on strategies for outlining research questions. She has set of 
prepared questions for the different courses present during the seminar. She gave some techniques for what should be incorporated and should not be included in writing and in framing the research questions.
During the workshop, the students and other participants were encouraged to recite and raise questions.
Dr. Shirley Baterina-Landingin, the member of the Institutional Ethics Committee, served as the seminar master of ceremonies.
Engr. Elisabeth Calub, Dean of School of Information Technology and a member of the Institutional Research Committee welcomed the participants for the seminar and Mr. Julius D.
