ABSTRACT

This study sought to determine the status of study habits of students of the UB Law Enforcement Academy (LEA). The study habits of the LEA students were analyzed along the following areas: time scheduling, concentration/reflection, listening and note- taking, reading comprehension, taking examinations, reading speed, and writing skills. A total of 507 LEA students enrolled during the second semester of SY 2005-2006 participated in the study. The LEA students manifest moderately satisfactory study habits along the seven study dimensions. They do best in listening and taking down notes. They are weakest in time scheduling, speed reading and concentration. These imply that the LEA students need to strengthen their study habits. The formulated action plan is strongly recommended for adoption and implementation.
