The Research and Development Center of the University of Baguio has once again steered a seminar on research as part of its series of trainings that aim to encourage researchers to take part in shaping the University’s institutional research and development agenda.
The seminar with the title “ Formulating Data Gathering Tools” was conducted by the said office on September 23, 2017, at the UB Centennial Library from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN. It was participated by 130 students and 24 faculty and employees from UB and Easter College.
To provide the stakeholders with better research skills and awareness particularly regarding data gathering tools, the resource speaker, Dr. Aida A. Dapiawen, the Dean of UB School of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, discussed various principles and practices in data gathering tool formulation. She also provided points and tips in handling the challenges of data gathering as part of a research undertaking. Towards the end of the event, she addressed the questions cast by the participants in the seminar.
The welcome and closing remarks delivered by Mr. Miguel Xerxes Villacrucis and Ms. Madeline Salvino, respectively, have reiterated the value of participating in research writing and publishing articles in both nationally and internationally recognized research journals.
Ms. Jenny Feliciano and Ms. Andrea Cortel, faculty members in the University of Baguio, facilitated the seminar. – Shirley Baterina-Landingin
