Abstract
Despite the increasingly widespread application of technologies in virtually every aspect of the K-12 education, essential challenges are preventing their widespread and effective implementation. ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) standards for students, teachers, and administrators help measure proficiency and set aspiration goals for the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to succeed in today’s Digital Age. This study evaluated the use of technology standards in the School of Natural Sciences in the University of Baguio according to gender, length of teaching experience, and educational attainment. The method used was descriptive survey. The questionnaires for the use and performance of technology standards from NETS-T (National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers) and ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) were utilized. The respondents were 12 permanent, full-time teachers teaching professional subjects in the School of Natural Sciences during the first semester of the school year 2018-2019. The research revealed that the respondents had “very good” level of use amd performance of technology standards, and were significantly skilled in technology acquired. There were no significant differences in the level of use of technology standards, level of performance of technology standards, and level of skills in technology acquired according to gender, length of teaching experience and educational attainment.
