UB strengthens research partnership with Baguio, La Trinidad schools

The University of Baguio (UB) renewed its partnership with Baguio Central University (BCU), Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC), Easter College, and King’s College of the Philippines (KCP) in a signing ceremony held at UB MCR A211 last Jan. 18.

The consortium aims to further promote the conduct of research activities by the participating schools, focusing onIMG_3651 academic advancement and civic programs that aid in community development. Under the agreement, the schools will conduct collaborative faculty researches and research-related professional development activities in the next two years. UB, among others, shall organize faculty and student research colloquia, providing an avenue for the dissemination of research findings. Research seminars and trainings will also be conducted, which shall involve sharing of human and non-human resources. Other activities that shall serve as avenues in utilizing research outputs that address community needs shall be likewise organized by UB.

In the first memorandum of agreement crafted in 2016, the aim was for the participating schools to undertake research activities related to UB’s Criminology and Teacher Education programs. The recent agreement includes all program offerings and civic programs of the University.

Present during the ceremony were Dr. Perfecto Lopez, BCU’s vice president for administration; Dr. Sherry Junette Tagle, CCDC’s president; Rev. Anita Gomaya, KCP’s president; UB president Engr. Javier Herminio Bautista; Dr. Janice Kaylyn Lonogan, UB’s vice president for academic affairs; Dr. Esmeralda Gatchallan, UB’s vice president for institutional and external affairs; Dr. Marilou Saong, director of the UB Research and Development Center; Melanie Saro, director of the UB Linkages Office; and Dr. Ely As-il, director of the Human Resource and Research Office at KCP.
