UB’s Engr. Hafalla Jr. bags International Best Research Award

Engr. Victor V. Hafalla Jr., a faculty of the School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA) of the University of Baguio, adds another feather to his cap as he gets hold of the prestigious award for Best International Research at the 4th National and International Conference 2016 (CASNIC4). His paper entitled “Modeling In-Service Mathematics Educator’s Technological, Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK)” delved on the intricacies of blending technology, pedagogy and content in mathematics education. Engr. Hafalla was accompanied by UB graduate students, Anna Jovan D. Santos, Sheila Delica-Bungar, and Alexander Dolin, also a faculty of the School of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, who presented their individual research papers during the event. The CASNIC4 was held at the Green Hotel and Resort and the College of Asian Scholars in Khon Kaen, Thailand on October 7, 2016.

Other international universities who also presented during the CASNIC4 are the following: Nagasaki Wesleyan University (Japan), Fukuoka Jo Gakuin University (Japan), Kyushu University (Japan), Savannakhet University (Laos), Dague Haany University (South Korea), University of Fukui (Japan) and Shinhan University (South Korea).

On top of the Best Research Paper award, Engr. Hafalla also sat as a panel member in the plenary discussions on educational reform as a sociopolitical commitment during the said event. He is currently a member of the University Research Board of UB and the School Research Anchorperson for SEA.
