STUDENT RESEARCH COLLOQUIUM 2017

The Student Research Colloquium for the academic year 2017-2018 was held on November 4, 2017, at the 2Centennial Hall and Centennial AVR of the University of Baguio. Students from the different schools of the University attended the said colloquium. Easter School also sent their students to participate. Their research advisers accompanied some students.

The papers presented were multidisciplinary. The students for the School of Dentistry, School of Natural Sciences, and UB Science High School presented studies aligned to health research. Students from the School of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences did studies on behavioral research. Those from the School of Information Technology and School of Engineering and Architecture did development research and thus, presented their inventions and innovations. 1The Senior High School students from Easter College amazed their students with their inventions.

For the first time since the inception of the Student Research Colloquium, Best Presenters were awarded. Five were chosen among the 23 groups that presented. They were Jenelly Grace B. Laroco (SLAHS), Bryan Dexter T. Ribo (SIT), Ellen Rose R. Banglayan and Apple Faith B. Lapangan (Easter College), Jayson C. Bernardo, et al. (SNS), and Zorab Jai P. Oandasan (SIT). They were given a certificate and cash award.

The colloquium was opened by a message on video from the University President, Dr. Dhanna Kerina B. Rodas. The school research anchorpersons namely Dr. Rhoda Tique,Ms. Jaleh Gacayan, Mr. Ide Liwanen, Ms. Marilou B. Sannadan and Ms. Cherry Ann Carpiso served as the moderators during the presentations.

An assigned reactor gave his/her comments following the guidelines provided for the reactors.  The reactors varied from students, University Directors, and faculty members who are also research teachers and advisers.
