Research Ethics and Tool validation and reliability

The Webinar series on Research Ethics and Tool validation and reliability was conducted on September 18, 2021, via Zoom while streamed at the R&DC Facebook live. The platform was widely accessible online and has reached participants from a regional scale, and most participants are from the University of Baguio students, faculty, staff, and guest. The activity started on time with the opening remarks of Dr. Marivic Mutong, member of the University Institutional Research Committee (URB-IRC) and Principal of UBHS. Then followed by the first speaker Dr. Jun C. Corpuz, the chairman of the University Ethics Research Committee (URB-REC) and a member of Cordillera Regional Health Research and Development (CRHRDC). Dr. Corpuz presented on the topic of research ethics, elaborating on the importance of ethical consideration in doing research and the process of how the research ethics committee conducts ethics. The second speaker was Dr. Julius Simon, a member of the University Institutional Research Committee (URB-IRC) and a faculty member of STELA discussed the reliability of research tools and their interconnection with the validity of the data gathering tool. He also added how the questionnaire should be constructed. The activity was attended by more than 600 participants from Zoom and FB page of RDC.
