Abstract

Insights into the perceptions of students on their learning experience provide essential information that can be used to inform course design and development. The study intended to determine the level of teaching performance of full-time teaching employees during the 2nd semester of School Year 2017 to 2018 in the areas of instruction, use of instructional materials, classroom management, student assessment or evaluation, and personality. The researchers used the ex-post-facto method to analyze the evaluation ratings of full-time faculty, grouped according to school, educational qualification, and length of service. The area of personality had the highest weighted mean, followed by classroom management. Both were interpreted as outstanding. The areas of instruction, evaluation, and use of instructional materials had mean values interpreted as satisfactory, with use of materials having the lowest weighted mean. Kruskal Wallis test revealed that there were no significant differences in the level of teaching performance of full-time teaching employees according to school. Analysis of variance likewise revealed that there were no significant differences in the level of teaching performance of full-time teaching employees in terms of years of service and educational qualification. The results suggest that plans for faculty development can focus on addressing the areas with the lowest ratings to improve the teaching performance of full-time teaching employees.
