The research capability program of the University continued with the conduct of the webinar on Institutional Research Format last October 30, 2021 via Zoom application. The event was also featured live in the Facebook page of the Research and Development Center. The webinar aimed to equip students enrolled in research, faculty members, and staff with the knowledge of producing quality research outputs that can be published in local and international refereed journals. The activity started at 8:00 in the morning with the opening remarks given by the RDC Director, Dr. Isagani A. Paddit.
The first speaker was Dr. Jacqueline B. Bonifacio, a faculty member and Research Anchorperson of the School of Natural Resources. She discussed the IMRaD format for undergraduate and graduate school students. She also talked about the latest policies of APA 7th edition regarding IMRAd and UB Institutional format. The second speaker was Ms. Marilou B. Sannadan, a faculty member and Research Anchorpersons of UB High School. She discussed the 7th Edition APA format, specifically the in-text citations and references. The participants were given time to clarify issues at the end of each speaker.
A total of 529 attended the event in which 383 (72%) were in the Zoom application and 146 (28%) were in the FB Live. There were 465 (88%) students, 40 (8%) faculty members, 14 (3%) non-teaching employees and 10 (2%) guests. The following offices attended the event: linkages office, CCSD, Security office, OVPAA, Medical clinic, library, ECOS, QAO, Science high school and MIS office. The guests were from Jakarta, Indonesia, Batangas, Cabanatuan, Pangasinan, Pampanga, and Zambales. – by Nona Christina R. Gabriel
