This study centered on determining the percentage distribution of the graduates of SYs 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 along their course preference as reflected in their College Scholastic Aptitude Test (CSAT) administered by the Center for Educational Measures (CEM). It also determined the level of CSAT Quality Index scores of the graduates grouped according to their course preference along English, Math, Science and Inductive Reasoning subtests. In addition, the percentage distribution of the graduates of both SYs 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 according to their course preference along their gender was considered. Results show that majority of the graduates of SYs 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 preferred courses related to Health and Medicine. Students who prefer Law and Jurisprudence are superior or excellent in the four subtests while the other groups range from high average to above average but still a few are superior. Males in general prefer Engineering and Architecture but a number of males also chose Health and Medicine. Females dominate Health and Medicine as a course preference followed by Accounting/Business/ Entrepreneurship. A work plan was developed to strengthen the vocational guidance program of the department. It is recommended that the work plan will be implemented next school year from June to October 2010. A tracer study to determine the course enrolled by the graduates of SYs 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 can also be done to confirm if they followed their career preference when they were in the secondary level.
